Something to Crow About

  • WE WON THE ECOLYMPICS!

For the past two years, Wayman Crow has been named the "Greenest Building on the 40" after dominating in the CS40-sponsored EcOlympics.  Demonstrate your commitment to living sustainably by taking the Green Team pledge.  After taking the pledge, you will receive a Green Team placard in the mail that you can hang on your door to show others that you are environmentally conscious.  Click on the green monster below to access the online pledge!

Fight the Flu

  • Washing your hands with soap and hot water are still your best defense against the flu! If you are feeling sick, there are many great resources available to you at Student Health Services.

What Is College Council?

Download our informational brochure HERE!

Every year, the Wayman Crow College Council is comprised of enthusiastic and hard-working students that want to make a positive impact on their residential community.  Joining College Council is a great way to get involved in our residential college!  College Council is responsible for maintaining contact with the Congress of the South 40 (CS40), the governing student body on the South 40, and planning a wide variety of fun and educational programs and activities for the residents of Wayman Crow.  Events that the Wayman Crow College Council has coordinated in the past include a formal dance, ice skating in Forest Park, games of laser tag/demolition ball/paintball, movie nights at the Moolah Theatre, musicals at the Fox Theatre, comedy club night, community service projects, Cardinals Games, and trips to pick apples at a local orchard. We have a budget of over $5500, so we have the ability to sponsor some awesome programs for our students.

College Council Elections

College Council Elections occur every year in mid-September.

College Council meets once a week and is advised by the Wayman Crow RCD (Dee Campanella) and Graduate Fellow (Shaina Goodman).  There are also one or two RA Liasons to the group and one CS40 Executive Liaison.

The positions on College Council are:

  • Wayman Crow President
  • Wayman Crow Vice President
  • Wayman Crow Treasurer
  • Wayman Crow Secretary
  • 4 Wayman Crow Assembly Representatives - Assembly Reps must attend CS40 Assembly every Tuesday at 10pm in addition to a weekly College Council meeting.  Assembly Reps are also required to serve on either the CS40 Development or Service Board
  • 6 College Council Representatives (minimum).  Other special positions are subject to be added each year (e.g., Sustainability Chair, Community Service Chair, Faculty Connections Chair, etc.) at the RCD's discretion.

Former Wayman Crow College Council members have gone on to be great leaders on the Washington University campus!  Positions later held by students that joined College Council during their first semester at Wash U include: CS40 President, Resident Advisor, Residental Peer Health Educator, Wash U Student Associate, Student Union President, etc.  Furthermore, many Wayman Crow College Council alums are involved in Greek Life, Student Union, Chimes, Lock & Key, varsity sports, acapella groups, cultural shows, Campus Y Programs, and several other student groups on campus.  The former students that have served on the Wayman Crow College Council are clearly WAYMAZING, and you, too, can be a part of this group just by running a small, low-key campaign in an effort to get elected by your peers.  Please visit the CS40 website for more details and to download an election packet (due in early September 2009).
